Sainsbury's solar panel offering was seen on a leaflet in a local store recently. Their solar panel offering is in partnership with British Gas as the front of the leaflet says. They also seem to be offering 10,000 Nectar points. Please check out their information yourself by looking at the leaflet or their website - we've just put this information here as we read it.
Inside they explain that a solar PV system takes sunlight and converts it directly into electricity for use in the home, and that it will reduce the amount of electricity that you need from your supplier but also will allow the house holder to take advantage of the government Feed-in Tariff.
Costs for their solar panel offering vary according to the system that is selected - the standard 21.1 kWp system costs £9,999, and they say you could benefit from £22,000 over 25 years based on assumptions mentioned in the leaflet.
Sainsbury's suggests reasons for using them:
- Earn money generating your own electricity
- Work carried out by government approved installers
- Full service from start to finish
- Easy maintenance - no moving parts
- 25 year guarantee
- 10,000 Nectar points
They say your home might be suitable if you meet the following:
- You have a metered electricity supply
- You are the freeholder or have permission
- The property is not a mid-floor or basement flat
- The property isn't listed
- The property has an unshaded south-facing roof
